It is obvious that man is the highest living being on the planet. No other creature comes close to his intelligence and abilities, Man alone has the ability to solve complex problems and to experience deep emotions.

Evolutionists try to tell us man is simply a highly developed animal. However, the Bible tells us that God Himself designed and created man from the dust, and breathed His life into him (Gen. 2:7). He was created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27). Man was created a perfect being, but fell because of disobedience. Man is now a little lower than the angels, but when completely redeemed will be higher than the angels (Heb. 2:7; I Cor. 6:3).

It is God Himself Who forms each baby in the womb, knitting it into just the person that suits His pleasure (Psalm 139:13; Jer. 1:5). It is a dangerous thing for the abortionist to take out of God’s hand the person He is designing.

Man is a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body (I Thess. 5:23). No other living creature has an eternal spirit. It is in the spirit that man communicates with God (John 4:24), and it is our spirit that was designed to house His spirit (I Cor. 3:16). Our soul is made up of the mind, emotions and will, thus it is our personality. Our body is temporal and is decaying, but we can look forward to a new body to house our soul and spirit after this life (II Cor. 5:1).

Things are made with a distinct purpose in mind. Tools and machines are developed to fulfill specific needs. When God created man He had a definite purpose in mind (Jer. 29:11). Our first and highest objective is to praise Him and glorify Him in everything we do (Heb. 13:15). Man was created for God’s pleasure (Ps. 149:4). He is in the process of conforming those who are willing into the image of His Son (Rom. 8:29). Man is meant to be a servant to be used to share His message of love and salvation with others (Matt. 28:19, 20).

Although all of creation has a purpose and was designed and created for His pleasure, it is only man that has the awesome privilege to have a personal relationship with His Creator and to spend eternity with Him.
